In a recent article on The five best beef jerky brands of 2025 written by Ali Domrongchai, Associate Editor, Groceries, for www.thekitchn.com, Archer Jerky was ranked the #1 brand.
"We focused on original flavor (no teriyaki or barbecue!) and sourced the most popular name- and store brands based on availability and price. We also requested input from our editorial team to round out the list of seven competitors. The brands ranged in price from $4 all the way up to $18, though most were around $8 at the time of this tasting."
The samplers did a blind taste test and Archer Jerky was the clear winner because of "its distinctly rich, savory flavor and tender texture."
The taste testing team declared the winner based on:
- Saltiness
- A bit tough yet still tender
- Slightly smoky flavor
